Friday (Oct 30) Dress: Voting for my Future to be Drug Free! (Wear Red, White, & Blue) *** (Alternative for students who do not dress in Halloween costumes)

Contests
Math Contest: In the library window display, there will be a jar filled with an item of choice. Teachers may take their classes, by homeroom, math classes, etc., by the display and allow students to estimate how many items are in the jar. On the attached form, write down the student’s name and his/her guess. Teachers are to also make a guess. Turn this form back in to Mrs. Lovvorn by Thursday, Oct 29. There will be two winners per grade: one student and one teacher.
Poster Contest: “Cowboy Up Against Drugs” Students are to draw a poster based on this theme. Picture must be on 8 ½ by 11 piece of plain paper. On the back of the poster, student should write his/her name and homeroom teacher’s name. Posters without a name WILL NOT be eligible to win a prize. Teachers will turn in posters to Mrs. Lovvorn by the end of the day Thursday, Oct. 29.
Writing Contest (1-5): Students will write on the topic, “Cowboy Up Against Drugs” Final draft should be on contest paper. Papers are due to Mrs. Lovvorn by the end of the day Wednesday, Oct. 28.
***“Cowboy Up”-means when things are getting tough you have to get back up, dust yourself off, and keep trying.
